NewterNIMA 1.4.0: what changed
terNIMA, a terminal for embedded developers.
One window for everything your board says: serial, TCP and SSH, plus RTT and SWO straight from your debug probe, with no vendor software. Watch your firmware's variables change as it runs, plot them, follow its Zephyr logs, and see the file and line of a crash. Free and open source, on Windows, macOS and Linux.

- Windows may say "Windows protected your PC": click More info, then Run anyway.
- macOS may say the app is damaged or cannot be checked: move it to Applications, then run
xattr -cr /Applications/terNIMA.appin Terminal. - Linux: make the AppImage runnable with
chmod +x, and to use serial ports, add yourself to thedialoutgroup (uucpon Arch).

What it does
- Serial, RTT, SWO and TCPEvery serial option, RTT through CMSIS-DAP, J-Link and ST-Link probes with no vendor software, SWO, and TCP or Telnet.
- SSHA shell on a Linux board or a server in a real terminal, with vim and htop: a key file, the SSH agent or a password that is never saved, and the server's key checked.
- Zephyr shell and logsA full VT100 terminal with 24-bit color, and logs you filter by level and module, search and bookmark.
- Crash decodingUnder a code address in the output, as in a Zephyr fatal error, a HardFault or an ESP32 backtrace, its function, file and line from the ELF, on plain serial too.
- Live variablesThe firmware's globals, struct members and array elements by name from its ELF, read as the chip runs, beside the terminal or plotted.
- A live plotterTime, XY, histogram and FFT charts with a scope trigger and a right axis for values far apart, Arduino Serial Plotter format included.
- Modbus, and its trafficRTU and ASCII as a master that polls and plots, or a slave that answers, and every frame on the bus, each response under its request.
- Record and replaySave a session with its timing and play it back later, faster or slower, from any point.
- Copy, paste and Scroll lockSelect to copy and right-click to paste, as in PuTTY. Scroll lock keeps the screen still while lines keep coming.
- Macros and sequencesMacros on Alt+1 to Alt+9, and sequences of them sent with a wait, a number of times or until you stop them.
- RTT and variables while you debugRTT from J-Link's or OpenOCD's own server, and the variables through OpenOCD, while your IDE keeps the probe.
